The office of Doron Shalev Engineering Ltd. specializes in various fields and facets of engineering, including civil engineering, aeronautical engineering and structural analysis.
 
The office has acquired vast experience designing structures as well as varied civil engineering projects such as high rise buildings, steel structures, pedestrian bridges, millions of square meters of office, commercial, industrial and residential structures, across the country and worldwide. In addition, the office has designed over two millions of square meters of unbonded post-tensioned slabs. The office specializes in complicated analyses to meet the requirements of israeli and international standards in wind and earthquake loadings.

 
Civil Engineering

   

In the field of Aeronautical Engineering, the office is involved in the design of aircrafts (manned and unmanned), missiles and satellites for customers in Israel (Israel Aircraft Industries, Israel Military Industries, RAFAEL, Elbit and various others) and for customers abroad.

The office is capable to provide engineering solutions and simulations performing most advanced analyses for any type of application in geometric and material nonlinearity, dynamic analyses - rigid and continuous, random vibrations, etc. This includes a unique specialty in composite materials applied in flight vehicles and whole variety of industrial applications.

The combined knowledge and expertise of the office enables to provide unique inter-disciplinary consultation and design services for any type of structure in terms of any type of geometry, material, loading, etc.

The office has the experience, knowledge and ability to deal with all types of standard structures as well as with special civil engineering issues, using international, local and independently developed plans.

• Structural calculations – rigidity
   and stability requirements according
  to Israel Standard Institute standard
  446 – concrete, standard 1225 –
  steel and international standards.
• The use of 3D models using the
   finite element method to
   demonstrate the dynamic reaction,
   of structures to external stress:
   static analysis, dynamic analysis,
   nonlinear analysis, etc.
• Full 3D analysis of horizontal stress
  on structures: wind load – standard
  414 – earthquake stress – the new
  standard 413.
• Planning structures made with the
  various types of pre-stressed
  concrete: pre-tensioned, post-
  tensioned, bonded and unbonded.
• Planning steel structures for industry
  and additional structures
• Subjects regarding the functionality
  of a structure – thermal influence,

About the Company's CEO Dr. Doron Shalev

Dr. Doron Shalev, Ph.D. in applied mechanics from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, Blacksburg, Virginia, USA, M.Sc. in structural engineering, B.Sc. in civil engineering from the Technion, Haifa.
Since 1977 Dr. Shalev has worked in civil engineering design offices, at the Aeronautical Industry in the field of structural engineering, designing aircraft and R&D on subjects of applied mechanics, and of course at his own private office.

Dr. Shalev is a member of the Standards Committee and of the following professional committees:
• Standard 2413 – evaluating the durability of buildings in earthquakes and strengthening
  them
• The standard for the behavior of special flexible structures during earthquakes
• The professional engineering committee for dealing with buildings constructed using
  the Pal-Kal method – appointed by the Minster of the Interior
• The engineering committee for finding a solution to the problem of sinkholes at the
  Dead Sea – appointed by a committee of CEO's.
